Journey of Kai. Wamanrao Oak Raktkendra
Kai. Wamanrao Okah Raktapedhi is a significant project of RSS Jankalyan Samiti (Maharashtra Prant). The idea behind it was to meet the increasing demand for blood in Thane and nearby areas. In 2002, a dedicated team was formed with a clear aim. They worked tirelessly round the clock, and by 2006, the blood bank was ready. Thanks to the untiring efforts of volunteers, it became operational in May 2007.
Located in the heart of the city, the blood bank is easily accessible from all directions. Operating 24/7, the blood bank is equipped with essential instruments and has adequate infrastructure in place.
- Kai. Wamanrao Oka Blood.centeri is a not for profit organisation which is FDA & SBTC approved.
- Operational since May 3, 2007 working with patient safety at the core.

This Blood center was envisaged and brought into existence by people in Thane primarily to support the need of the quality blood for growing population of the city.
